Jay Soto

Client Engagement Administrator

Jay brings profound dedication to service, fueling a career spanning nearly a decade within mission-driven organizations. As a first-generation college graduate and second-generation Mexican American, they draw inspiration from family, teachers, mentors, and community, who have shaped them into the person they are today.

During undergrad, Jay was politicized by a student-led initiative aimed at holding university leadership accountable for fostering a hostile campus climate following a series of racist acts. This movement, born from demands by the Black Student Union, bequeathed to Jay a campaign that resulted in the establishment of a cultural resource center and housing program for Latinx students. Since graduating, their unyielding commitment to social change has led them to assume various roles addressing issues related to education, economic justice, and workforce development.

Originally from North Hollywood, Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of California, San Diego, in Critical Gender Studies and Ethnic Studies. They are studied and passionate about systemic change with hopes to work across communities towards the struggle for liberation. During their leisure time, you can find Jay immersed in entrepreneurship, movement, music production, and various other creative endeavors.
