For nearly a century, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has fought for a world where every woman has immediate and unfettered access to the basic reproductive card and knowledge that is her human right. With its 79 affiliates managing nearly 800 health centers nationwide, PPFA provides family planning and reproductive health care services, education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people each year. Now, as the leading reproductive rights advocate, healthcare provider, and sex educator for women, PPFA looks to its next 100 years.

After examining the major trends impacting the organization, the federation came together to create a vision for the future that is embodied by the goals of its new five-year strategic plan: becoming the go-to source for sexuality education and sexual health information and care for young women and men, and helping to create the healthiest generation ever. In order to accomplish this, PPFA now seeks to fill the following positions in their National Office:

Staff Attorney (NY/DC):

The Public Policy Litigation and Law Department (PPL&L) of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a Staff Attorney to join our team. This position can be located in either our New York City or Washington, DC office. PPL&L provides legal advice both to the national organization and to Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country on public policy issues that affect the mission of the organization. PPL&L also conducts and participates in high visibility litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country to advance the Planned Parenthood mission. PPFA seeks an attorney with outstanding credentials with 4+ years of sophisticated legal experience. Strong preferece towards litigation, and ideally involve questions of constitutional law. The successful candidate's responsibilities will be commensurate with his/her experience.

Regional Field Manager (NY/PA/MD/DE/WV/NC):

PPFA seeks a Regional Field Manager (RFM) to work with affiliates to advance PPFA's political and legislative advocacy agenda by developing and implementing strategic field plans to demonstrate our grassroots power. This position will work closely with the Field Director to determine strategic program planning and implementation. The RFM will provide expertise and technical support to develop and implement statewide strategies to advance proactive reproductive health policies, defending against assaults on women's reproductive health and rights, and identify, educate, recruit and mobilize pro-choice supporters, activists, and volunteers within a designated region. S/he will also assist with affiliate and state public affairs staff in setting and achieving field campaign goals. Travel required. Application deadline: May 29, 2012.

Public Policy Associate (DC):

PPFA seeks a dynamic and effective Public Policy Associate to provide administrative and program support to the Public Policy department. The incoming Public Policy Associate will conduct daily tracking of the Federal Register and agency websites and inform key PPFA policy staff point people of developments; maintain tracking systems; work with data analytics team to keep fact sheets and other materials up-to-date; generally assist the National Director of Public Policy with development of materials for various audiences; develop agenda and facilitate the scheduling of weekly policy team meetings; assist National Director of Public Policy in day-to-day administrative operations of the department and assist in the planning of summits, events, and meetings. Republican Outreach Manager (DC):

The Republican Outreach Manager is responsible for developing constituency outreach programs at Planned Parenthood Federation of America focusing on the Republicans for Planned Parenthood program and broad constituency development. As a member of the Organizing & Electoral Campaigns Department, the Republican Outreach Manager bridges advocacy, communications, and policy strategies to broaden Planned Parenthood’s network of support among this key constituency group to build grassroots capacity in these communities and engage their leadership in the women’s health movement. The Republican Outreach Manager works closely with the National Political Director, National Director of Organizing & Electoral Campaigns and Director of Field & Electoral Operations to develop and lead outreach efforts to broaden our constituency support and strengthen our Republicans for Planned Parenthood program both with the National Office and its Affiliates. Campaign Specialist, Digital Fundraising & Supporter Engagement (DC):

The new Campaign Specialist is responsible for providing campaign support and training to affiliate and state offices and assisting in the technical implementation of the program within the Convio CRM platform. S/he will assist with implementation of online campaigns, ensuring launch dates are met. S/he will also serve as a resource for affiliate practitioners on technical and best practices use of application.

Digital Strategy and Social Media Specialist (DC)

The Digital Strategy & Social Media Specialist thinks strategically and tactically about how Planned Parenthood can use digital and social media to promote its policy, advocacy, and fundraising goals. He or she is responsible for the design and implementation of campaigns and digital materials for Planned Parenthood’s websites and social-media properties. S/he will work with colleagues throughout the national organization, affiliates across the country, as well as with outside vendors to create innovative campaigns and digital materials to support Planned Parenthood initiatives and engage supporters. In addition will be part of the creative team that develops innovative outreach techniques to reach our target audiences, generate media coverage and gets our message delivered and communicated. The Digital & Social Media Specialist is critical in ensuring that Planned Parenthood’s online political, advocacy, and fundraising content is relevant and effective.
