Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group apologizes for the delayed announcement, but is pleased to announced The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at Ohio State University has hired Kathy Baird as their new Director of Communications. Kathy Baird's communications experience spans the academic, advertising, public relations and media fields. She joins the Kirwan Institute from Ohio Wesleyan University where she was the Director of University Communications. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of the University's communications program including publications, media relations and electronic communications, significantly expanding the University's communications efforts and brand presence. She previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications for The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Prior to her work in academia, she was President of Baird Communications, a marketing communications firm with an emphasis on serving clients in the fields of healthcare, education and technology. Other previous roles include Public Relations Director for a major local advertising agency, media relations and communications positions with two local hospitals and as a news producer for WSYX TV in Columbus, Ohio. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University and is Accredited in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America.
