Services for Nonprofits

Our Search Services

We offer unbundled search services to those nonprofits that need highly tailored services or cannot afford fully retained search. Most of our clients choose a la carte from our offerings as their needs demand.

We provide packaged or hourly consulting in: job description preparation, outreach, resume screening, interviewing, reference checking, search committee management, and negotiation.

We are also available to train board and staff in any or all of these areas.

Our Commitment to Diversity

We make every effort to present diverse pools of qualified candidates for each search. Since 2007, we closed more than two thirds of our searches with women or minorities and close to a quarter with female minorities.

Hello!

In this month's newsletter, we will discuss the need for speed in today's hiring process. Learn what to do if you've interviewed the dream candidate, because dragging your heels could mean losing out entirely.

The Need for Speed

In a world where Donald Trump makes snap firing decisions and Nike pushes you to "Just Do It" it can still be uncomfortable to think about moving fast when you're making a critical hire. While it is an absolute necessity to fully screen and thoroughly interview a candidate - even a dream candidate, the one that had you at hello - it is an absolute tragedy to drag your heels and let weeks, sometimes months, pass without making a move.

While we are certainly not advocating a "speed dating" form of recruitment and selection, there are valid reasons to forge ahead once you've identified a candidate that fits your organization's culture and brings the requisite skills and experiences to the role.

Fundraisers Told They Should Refine, Refocus Their Approach

Although the economy is getting better, donors are not too confident, but will increase giving if they hear a compelling story about how to help people impacted by the recession, the editor of The Chronicle of Philanthropy told a packed audience at the recent annual meeting of Women in Development of Greater Boston.

"Donors want to know how their donation will be used and how it will make a difference," Stacy Palmer, editor of The Chronicle of Philanthropy, said at the Women in Development of Greater Boston Young Philanthropist Award Luncheon at Boston's Colonnade Hotel "Continue to get the message out about how your charity's programs are helping those in need."

Special Olympics World Summer Games Launch in Athens, Greece

SOI_Athens2011_Logo

The Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Summer Games ATHENS 2011 was held in the Kallimarmaron Panathenaikon Stadium on June 25th. It was in this packed venue that 7,500 Athletes from 185 countries shouted to the whole world: "Let me win! But if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt."

The event website expresses: The Opening Ceremony signals the beginning of the greatest athletic, cultural, educational and humanistic event of 2011. . . The feeling of satisfaction born by the completion of an important mission will meet with the smile of hope and optimism for the future. . . Not only Athens, but the whole of Greece will spread the global message of peace, respect of being different, acceptance, social inclusion and equality.

We are proud to have partnered with Special Olympics International in executing over ten searches across two years, transforming their mid- to senior-level management team and their ability to deliver greater impact in fulfillment of their mission.
