No Phone Calls Please! And Other Rules You Should Break

Job seekers constantly second guess themselves about what to do at each step of the process. My clients often bemoan, 'If only I could talk to a live person, I could just tell them how great I am!' And, why shouldn't they? This article, written by us but published widely on CareerBuilder.com, debunks some of the most infamous job seeking myths.

  • Resumes must be one page.
  • Salary ranges are set in stone.
  • All available jobs are listed in the classifieds.

Striking the Work/Family Balance

Striking the perfect balance between work and family is no simple art. It is tricky at best and filled with all sorts of unexpected landmines. Your best bet is to throw your lot in with a family friendly, flexible employer. Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group was founded on the principle that flexibiliy is a good thing: for our clients, for our staff, and for the sector at large.

Last month, Laura Gassner Otting was interviewed by YourOnRamp.com, one of the leading resources online for women considering how re-entering the workforce might affect them and their families.
