SUMMARY
The
Development Director is a seasoned, creative development professional who has a
passion for economic justice. Building on UFE’s strong financial and membership
base, the Development Director will lead us to a new level of fundraising
performance while helping us diversify our individual and institutional donor
base to more fully reflect our mission of supporting a cross-class and
cross-race social change movement. S/he will have the perspective that
contributing through activism and through financial contributions are integrally
linked, and help UFE improve its efforts to turn activists into contributors and
contributors into activists.
BACKGROUND
Who We Are
United for a Fair Economy (UFE) is a national organization that draws public
attention to growing income and wealth inequality and its dangerous consequences
for our economy, democracy and culture. UFE exposes hidden truths about wealth
and its effects on democracy and busts myths that justify growing concentration
of wealth and power. Our program includes a campaign to preserve and reform the
federal estate tax; long-term support to a progressive tax organizing coalition,
an education initiative on the causes and consequences of the racial wealth
divide, a corporate responsibility initiative and education on the impact of the
global economy. We use many tools – from print and radio media; to reports and
books; to workshops that demystify economics; to creative actions that attract
public attention to our issues.
UFE
enters its second decade with a national reputation for its creativity in
transforming complex economic information into plain speech, and disseminating
that information and analysis in ways that inspire people to engage in policy
action to create an economy that works for all of us. UFE has also undertaken a
long-term effort to also address the racial dimensions of economic inequality.

share expertise.
The

direct mail program, involvement in program actions, and one-on-one relationship
