Laura Gassner Otting,
President:
Laura Gassner Otting created
the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group. Prior to forming the group,
she served as the senior vice president of ExecSearches.com, the web's leading
site for mid- to senior-level nonprofit job postings and search services.
Laura has served as vice president at Isaacson, Miller, one of the largest
search firms in New England, and one of the most highly respected non-profit
executive search firms in the country. Previously, Laura served as a
presidential appointee for the White House Office of National Service, a program
officer for the Corporation for National Service and as a member of the
Clinton/Gore Transition Team and 1992 Election Team. She holds a Masters
in Political Management from the George Washington University and a Bachelors of
Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. Laura sits on
the boards of Camp Starfish and Strong Women, Strong Girls, and has served as a member of
the Alumni Board of the Graduate School of Political Management at the George
Washington University and as the founding board chair of the Boston Choral
Ensemble. Laura teaches classes on working in the nonprofit sector at the Boston
Learning Society.

Deb Berman, Senior Consultant:
Deb joined Nonprofit Professional
Advisory Group in 2004 with a special focus on providing the full suite of job
seeker services including resume reviewing and writing, cover letter editing,
job search strategies and interview training. Deb has extensive background in
the nonprofit field, including founding a highly successful program for children
with special needs, called Camp Starfish. As Founder, Deb recruited the founding
board of directors, and established the organization’s marketing, fundraising,
and strategic plans. Deb graduated cum laude from Colgate University with a dual
concentration in Sociology and Education. She has experience working with
emotionally disturbed children as a Psycho-educational Counselor at Judge
Baker’s Children’s Center, and as a counselor and supervisor at Ramapo-Anchorage
Camp in Rhinebeck, New York. Deb also has for-profit experience, as a
Research Associate at Forrester Research in Cambridge, where she
researched and analyzed the impact technology has on Fortune 1000 companies. Deb
holds an MBA from the Boston University School of Management, where she
concentrated in public and nonprofit management.

Amy B. Goldstein, Consultant:
Amy B. Goldstein is the
Massachusetts Pain Initiative Coordinator for the American Cancer Society of New
England and the immediate past director of Hope Lodge, a 45-room lodging
facility designed for cancer patients and family members traveling to Kansas
City for outpatient treatment. As its first director, Amy oversaw final
construction and all start-up administration for this facility. Her passion has
centered on program and volunteer development that supports quality of life for
cancer patients and their loved ones. She has acted as an advocate for
hundreds of patients and family members living with diagnoses of cancer,
dialysis, and HIV/AIDS. Amy earned her Master’s of Social Work degree from
University of Kansas and undergraduate degree in Psychology and Business from
University of Texas at Austin. Amy has held numerous volunteer and leadership
positions in the nonprofit community, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society,
National Public Radio, Village Shalom, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Jewish
Federation; she is an alum of Centurions Leadership Program and was recently
chosen for the Helzberg Fellows Program, class of 2003.

Mark Miller, Consultant:
Mark Miller has devoted most of
his career to helping nonprofit and government organizations communicate
effectively. As an employee or consultant, he has led communications
efforts for the White House, Amnesty International, Communities in Schools,
Touchstones, the National Governors’ Association, and the National AmeriCorps
Association, among others. During his five years at the Corporation for
National Service, Mark developed strategies, campaigns, and materials for the
AmeriCorps and helped national and local nonprofits meet their fundraising,
marketing, and recruitment goals through effective communications. His
writing experience includes reporting for The Washington Post and producing
award-winning annual reports, strategic plans, proposals, marketing and
recruitment materials, and text for ads and Web sites. Mark has a Bachelor
of Arts degree in English and journalism from James Madison University.
